Group Agreement

Group agreement/text is open to revision and discussion.

  • Let’s consider our cognitive and physical diversity. Let’s avoid ableist* actions and statements.
  • Let’s not assign gender identity and sexual orientation, and let’s not assume that everyone here is male/female, etc.
  • Let’s not interrupt each other in workshops.
  • Let’s remember the beauty of playing together and passing in games and competitions.
  • What happens here, stays here. If we want to share/relay what is discussed/experienced here, we can do so by anonymizing it.
  • Let’s ensure that everyone has an equal right to speak.
  • When we feel uncomfortable, we can leave the game/meeting/workshop, and when we feel comfortable, we can return.
  • Let’s use non-violent language.
  • Let’s respect the silence of those who remain silent in workshops.
  • Let’s imagine beyond playing only one type of professional game in games/fields and remember the beauty of transforming the space with those who play ‘differently.’
  • When the group agreement is not adhered to, let’s remind each other of the agreement.
  • Let’s consider our frequency of speaking and speaking time in workshops, and our turn with the ball, etc., in games (dribbling, etc.).
  • Let’s not assume that everyone knows every term.
  • Let’s value even one person’s expressed sensitivity.
  • If something is unclear or if there is something we don’t know, we can ask for clarification.
  • Queer Olympix is open to suggestions, let’s all embrace the suggestions if there are no objections.
  • Let’s read the ‘Policy Document for the Prevention of Gender Inequality and Gender-Based Violence’ of Queer Olympix, and inform the organization team in conditions where the commitments need to be implemented or violated.

*Let’s not engage in ableism, let’s not assume that every body will have the same opportunities to do everything.

**Non-violent language/communication: Criticizing the action/statement itself rather than directly criticizing a person’s statement or action. (Instead of saying “When you did this,” say “When this was done, it made me feel like this.”)
